Dog Sensitive Dogs Class
As part of our behaviour modification training, we also offer a Dog Sensitive Dogs Class for those dogs who are working with us to change their behaviour towards other dogs. This class allows us to practice the skills already learnt around other on lead dogs. We progress to more challenging real life situations such as walking towards and past other dogs. This class is available to book via a private link for any existing clients. Think this class would benefit you and your dog? Send us an email or book an Initial Session.
What Makes Our Classes Different?
Whilst not working on behavioural issues in class, we have the knowledge and understanding of how these issues manifest, the early warning signs and, most importantly, how to prevent these issues. When you attend a class, we don't just teach the new skills but we are also analysing your dogs behavioural responses to spot these early warning signs and provide you with practical and important advice to prevent these from progressing.
Similarly, with the knowledge granted through becoming a Dynamic Dog Practitioner, we are able to informally assess and spot any physical abnormalities that may be affecting your dogs welfare within a class setting. This allows for the early identification of these physical abnormalities before they become clinically apparent.
Our classes are all held outside. The benefit of being outside, particularly for puppies, is promoting health and confidence. Slippery floors are not only uncomfortable for dogs, but can be a component in the development of physical issues. By working your dog in an outside with proper grip allows for functional movement and avoids creating uncertainty around foot placement and slipping.
We purposefully do not have a specific puppy class. Whilst these can be easier to teach as every dog is at the same level, this doesn't lead to effective socialisation. In a mixed age class, puppies are exposed to dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments - not just happy-go-lucky puppies!
Our weekly training classes with flexible attendance means you can attend as often as you like and skip weeks when you're not able to attend, without wasting resources. This also allows for different dogs each week, again helping with that all-important socialisation and training around distractions - not just the same dogs.
Class content is completely tailored to those in attendance. Lesson plans are designed based on what we typically cover and the individuals booked in, but if you have something specific, let us know on the booking form and we'd love to work that into our plan.
